Playwright and dramaturg (Sarajevo)

Nejra Babić was born on May 24, 1989 in Sarajevo. She is a Bachelor of Dramaturgy at the Academy of Performing Arts, in Sarajevo. She was the winner of the first prize for the script “Let me draw you” at the Academy, which was screened at the Sarajevo Film Festival (programme BH Film). Nejra is the author of a radio play based on a short story “Man with a Goofy Face” by Karim Zaimović and the author of the puppet text for adults “Frogs seek the President”, performed at the puppet biennale in Bugojno. The author of the play “Jedvanosimsoboakalomistobo” together with Aleš Kurt, premiered in Sarajevo War Theater. So far, the performance has won 17 awards at festivals in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. She is also one of the authors of the play “Bullying Collection” premiered in Sarajevo War Theater. She worked as a dramaturge for many performances.

Her play “Suitcase too red to be a suitcase” was included in the edition “Contemporary Drama from Bosnia and Herzegovinav in Polish” by Instytut Teatralny im. M. Hertz.
Currently, she is a freelance dramaturge, playwright, and screenwriter.
