Actress (Sarajevo)

Matea Mavrak (born August 14, 1996) is an actress from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where she completed her elementary and highschool education. During her primary and secondary education she also attended classical ballet school at the National theatre in Sarajevo. She graduated as a Bachelor of performig arts (actress) from the Academy of Perfoming Arts in Sarajevo in 2020. in the class of professor Senad Bašić and assistant professor Arma Tanović-Branković. During her acting studies she participated and perfomed in many student plays and films, including Precious (dir. Irfan Avdić, 2018.) and Two figures at a river (dir. Lukas Grevis, 2020.). After she graduated, she made her theatre debut in 2022. at Sarajevo War Theatre (SARTR) as Doris in the play My son walks just a little bit slower, written by Ivor Martinić and directed by Ivan Plazibat. She is currently also playing in Sarajevo feeling (dir. Thomas Steyaert) an Streetcar named Desire (dir. enseble of the play), also at SARTR, and in children’s play Ant and Beech (dir. Mario Drmać, Association of artists Mundo Mondo). She also made an appearance in sitcoms On the edge of reason (dir. Elmir Jukić) and Tender (dir. Amra Mehić & Neven Samardžić). She is currently a freelance actress living and working in Sarajevo.
